Looking for recommendations on SPD pedals

With lots of play as my knees are nearly shot

Probably been done millions of times.....................

Any sensible answers gratefully recieved

I have knee problems and find my shimano xtr m985 offer plenty on float and no knee pain. I think most of the shimanos offer the same amount of float roughly

I have some modern Shimano SPDs - they have float, but not much.

Crank Bros have a much nicer range of float IMO. I've not tried Time Atacs, but they're supposed to be the best of both worlds.

yep!

i'm trying out an old set of candys at the moment; they feel very different to shimanos.

No honestly I can't justify spending loads and not getting on with them.

I have 14 pairs of Shimano SPD. They are all set to a very loose fitting so barely 'clip in' at all. There is enough movement to feel free without being too loose.

I do have some spare eggbeater - I'll have a look at what there is in my box of filth.
