With lots of play as my knees are nearly shot  :D

Probably been done millions of times.....................

Any sensible answers gratefully recieved  :D

I have knee problems and find my shimano xtr m985 offer plenty on float and no knee pain. I think most of the shimanos offer the same amount of float roughly

Re:

Yes I think things have changed substantially since I last used some that clamped my foot like a vice :D

Cheers for the reply.

I have some modern Shimano SPDs - they have float, but not much.

Crank Bros have a much nicer range of float IMO. I've not tried Time Atacs, but they're supposed to be the best of both worlds.

Re:

I will be looking to buy second hand as I am a cheapskate

No honestly I can't justify spending loads and not getting on with them.

I have 14 pairs of Shimano SPD. They are all set to a very loose fitting so barely 'clip in' at all. There is enough movement to feel free without being too loose.

I do have some spare eggbeater - I'll have a look at what there is in my box of filth.
