Looking for a top spec Xizang for photo/film shoot

if only.....

Alas 'tis a coincidence!

Sorry to disappoint but I'm not the legend Dave Baker, merely a bike journo type working on a project. That said a pretty exciting one!!

I have compiled a list of possible parts on here and even had an offer of a wheel build! which is great news.

I'll post the list up as soon as I can and make sure I update the thread as I receive parts for the bike.

The Ken, Northen Portugal would be amazing but I feel I need to stay a little closer to home but I could be tempted to a spin up past the midlands but maybe a few folk want to get together somewhere?

T'boo Ted, I believe it does have the tapered head tube yes and the build will definitely be a sturdier version of the original. It will only be available as a 29er in the UK though.

John, yes interesting project indeed and I'm not able to say at the moment I'm afraid but RetroBike will for sure get some exposure through the project I have planned.

Having my self some Modern Bikes and always chosen the best brands and components on them I would use them also on a "New" Xizang model versus the Old/Retro Top of the range copmponents also installed on the "Old" Xizang as for the comparacy of the readers of two great Bikes with different ages.

A comum thing on todays Bikes is the weight factor, persons chose a Bike thinking how much it weights and dont care of performance sometimes and for you if you could show to persons(lots of them) that you can have a similar performance on a old and new Bike with sometimes the same weight would be great.

I think to show that "Old" and "New" of the Great Xizang that never changed her quality being Titanium or Carbon along all this years would be a great ideia ;)

Yes, better you dont come to Portugal or else I would request a ride on the New Frame :) hehehe

Just thought I'd clarify I'm not in northern portugal, I was just commenting on nogueira's location.

The pics I posted are from Scotland - Skye's Quiraing, I know the blue sky did fool us too, and we were there :)

Sorry for the delay....

Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of posting on this but I have just got back from Eurobike and the Worlds in Champery. Amazing times.

Anyway, so the Xizang has turned up and I am waiting on a few people to get the parts sorted out.

I'm going to have a meeting tomorrow and decide on the final build and will post that up as soon as I have it confirmed. Photo's will go up later too.

I work for MPORA as a Tech Editor and this is the first of our test bike builds for this year. We will be using the frame to test out various XC related parts and accessories over the coming months.

Checking out the posts on here there are some very tidy Xizang's out there and it might be cool to all meet up for a ride aboard the Ti legends. Would anyone be interested?

Open to location suggestions too.

Cheers

David

I'd be interested in a Xizang meet - the further north the better for me and Rado as we are in scotland.

Any rough idea on dates?

Great news!

Well at the moment I am still at the frame stage and need to source more parts. I would say mid October would be a good time to aim for, I am London based but can get back to my roots up North, how about the Lake District?

There is some nice stuff there, about 4 hours for me. What is it like for the others? Mid october might be ok.

If you are London based and no one else volunteers I can recommend Glentress :) - a short drive from Edinburgh airport or train station.

Here's yet another Xizang in Scotland:
