Looking for a top spec Xizang for photo/film shoot

Hope hubs - mavic rims would be a good combination.

Just a thought... Would be nice to try and set up matching builds, I'm sure between us we could do that, match part for part on the xizangs with old and new spec.

Hope hubs Retro: ti-glide or earlier - Cable or C2 brakes
Mavic Rims Retro: 231CD or similar
SID's
King Headset
XTR Chainset and Gears Retro M900
Syncros/ControlTech Stem and Post
Easton Bars?

Would take a bit of collaboration on our part, anyone else think this is a good idea?

When is the deadline for the article?
Any idea on location for the ride?

Matching builds sounds like a great idea, I was thinking along the line of most of the options people have suggested.

Some of the retro brands with their up to date versions, I don't want to use any NOS parts all from this year if possible.

It's going to be a 26inch version so will be a perfect match to the retro build.

I will post up a photo when I get back to the office and see the frame.

As far as a date and location goes then I would say late September depending on which parts I use and maybe the midlands for the meet/shoot.

Sounds an interesting project, are you able to say who this is for?

Hope retrobike will get a plug in your article / shoot / video since you've used the site to source the older Xizang ;)

Hi,

Its missing on this Photo the Syncros Titanium Seatpost, the Onza Bar Ends Titanium and another Sycros Stem Zero Rise.
I have also the choice of other Colour Tyres or Spoke Wheelset.

Not sure if you just wish UK Residents Xizangs but there it is Mine ;)

Northern Portugal would be a nice location at this time of year :)

John if my bike gets chosen I'll wear the retrobike banner as a cape :)

Midlands as a location might rule me out though, come up north and you could have this...

26, excellent... does that have the tapered head tube as well... that might make an identical build a bit harder against an original

with a name like "thebaker" and signed off with the name David are we dealing with the legend from the golden age of mountain bike racing himself here (who doesn't like to be flattered eh?!?! )???...or is it coincidentally the same name??? :? :)

Sorry if you were looking to remain anonymous :)
