Look Keo embarrassment

I've recently swapped to Look Keo2 Max on my 1994 Litespeed after 20 years on SPDs.

What I notice is that they seem really, really tight by comparison with SPD, even when on the loosest setting. I feel like I'm going to pull a muscle getting out. I also managed to topple yesterday when a truck stopped abruptly.   Oh the embarrassment!

I suspect that I am missing some kind of trick to escape easily. I've always used the single release SPD cleats, but any ideas or pointers? Cleats are Look grey, and definitely they are not loose on the shoe.

Are you rolling your foot and twisting instead of just twisting flat?
Some cleats are far more tolerant of the rolling action, some lock up and won't slide/twist freely. So you get jammed in and hit the deck.....

Matt, that's probably something like it - the single release SPDs aren't meant to release on the roll, but I bet they do with a bit of wear on the cleats. Or at least they are more tolerant and don't stiffen up whne the foot is twisted.

I'll have to twist my ankle consciously just like learning 20 years ago. Thanks for the idea.

My wife has the same issue when first using clipless. Starting her off on Time TBT was probably not the best idea!

The best bit was the body roll to avoid scratching the saddle or Record ergos!
