Ah man now there's even more to think about!

Sinnerman you could be right...I had Mint stickers on my Shogun Trailbreaker when I could only dream about Zinns... question to self "have I got the brass neck to do a Jo Burt special?" Thanks for the pix...

Mat you might just have turned my head towards Campag though...

Think this will need a lot of pondering over many beers and days!

Whats Cool is like its a blank canvas, and you can build a really cool bike with very little money with care imho.

Id start with a Powder coat, and decals, £60ish for both.

You have already got the brakes, id find a few parts from scrapper bikes, theres a dale on ebay with Ritchey Logic cranks and rings £30, set out to find another scrapper from ebay with a set of wheels usable mechs and shifters, You'll certainly find XT, your sure to find Suntour either XC comp and Pro, and you will find this for £100 im sure. Turbo repro saddle £35,00, Odi Grips £9.99, seatpost bars and tyres can be found here and for under £50 approx.

With a little Time, around £285.00 and perhaps a lot of cleaning and polishing, you could have a spanking dream Legend thats period correct, and a turn Key Vintage race bike thats Asking to be ridden and iconic at the same time.

Who needs a Klein....

Thanks for all the comments, advice and offers of bits so far...

Not made much progress yet beyond establishing that it is Z89026. At this rate of progress it’ll be 2022 before she’s finished!

Narrowed it down to Campag drive train and probably Maguras so a tribute to everyone’s favourite sheep is starting to look like where I’m off with it!

I said it was going to be long haul...

Little trip out to Vernon Barker in Dronfield for some dings to be filled. Dropped it yesterday, told it would be a week or so (which was cool) but Dave stayed until 8 and turned it around in less than a day. He reckons the repairs aren’t “invisible” but they look nigh on perfect to me.

Glad to see progress is being made. Have you decided on the colour?

Well I figured I'm going to copy somebody somewhere along the line - I love Sinnerman’s pink Iron Lady and Iveto’s black one but Sinnerman has planted the seed... whisper it...it's going to be a tribute to Jo Burt and Mishun H. Sugworth. Painting the flowers should keep me miles away from finishing it for a good year or two!
