Long drop brakes - fitting issues

I have a frame with long dop calliper needs. No problem in theory, though didn't realise it was a thing until I had gone through a couple of purchases that didn't fit.

Bought a set of Tektro 539 or something like that as a stop.gap to get the build going while waiting for something better. These fitted fine and were 57mm drop which is what I needed.

I found the replacement brakes I wanted recently (trp 957) which are also 57mm drop so bolt on and go right?

Well not quite, and I'm not sure why. I can get the rear brake shoes aligned separately each side, but when pulled together, the drive side show seems to end up higher and is at the rims edge, the other side is fine.

I'm sure this is just me and a set up issue, but I'm not sure why. It's been a while since I faffed with a road bike so hoping someone can help point me at what I'm doing wrong.

There's a grub screw on the right side of the calliper which on the rear is fully out but on the front, fairly screwed in. What does this do? Are there any other adjustments I can make?

Thanks

The grub screws are the spring tension adjusters, easiest is to back them both off, loosen the bolt that clamps Tje caliper to the frame, centre, and retighten. See how they work, and adjust tension on each side as required , just enough so that they are equal, with the minimum setting so that the arms return when releasing the brake lever

Thanks, I did fiddle with the grub screw and it did seem to help. The bike isn't fully built yet so I'm just using my hands, not cabled up at this point. Hopefully next weekend will allow some cabling.
