Locking skewers

Old School Grand Master
As od as it may seem My bikes have always been safer in poorer countries than in the u.k. and where I live at the momment Norfolk/cambs borders, we have a shed load of bike thefts.

My wheels are q/r and I have no doubt some scrote will try having the bike. So..quick release skewers that are lockable or come with a stick..I remember something similar..then I only need the one lock for the bike to the attached item rather than 3.

I suggestions/experiences?

The pit ones were knocking on 50 quid so the halo set seem a good option

what colour you going for?
whats pit ones? a brand i presume?

edit: found them. look rather intrusive and quite ugly  expensive as you said, serve a purpose though i suppose

as a side not, i always put my chain around the pole, around my frame and through the rear wheel

What I was trying to achieve knowing the local scrotes, was to avoid a cable lock. To have a chain big enough to go through the wheels, frame and a secured post of some kind may make the chain so big I would look like a pikey or mikey *******

So the idea was to still have q/r but lockable skewers then allowing the bike frame to be secured and have a lock small enough to do that

yeah i have a big chain, wear it round me neck sometimes so i dont have to take a bag 8)
my cable lock got cut and bike nicked, got it back though
he took the lock aswell :?
50odd seconds from a bike cage
nobody ever got prosecuted  at least i got my bike back now

Thanks all..the brand ex from crc look good being more than just an allen key, now if only they did a seat clamp as a 3 kit would be peachy

although I've just seen a tip on the allen key ones..apparently grease up a ball bearing and pop it into the allen key recess..will be a pain if you haven't got a magnet or something small to pop it out but most opportunists will find it a pain so will move on..I hope

i thought you meant these

ball bearing seem like a good idea, thieves dont like spending too long on something its too risky

also, what about cutting out a bit of electrical tape or similar and putting that on the bolt head so it looks like it has no access, also would hold the bb in 8) cut it slightly larger and 'tuck' the excess into the gap between the bolt and collar. will last longer then and look professional 8) 8)
