Local powdercoating comedy..

No response from PWS finishing... tsk. .

BUT. .

Rang another local place (15 miles away) and they don't do any sand-blasting which is a pain..
However.. as long as I only want a 'normal' colour (to quote : not pink or anything like that  ) the cost of powdercoating is. . .

£20.

I forgot all about Dan over at radbmx , he's the bmx sticker guy like gil-m is to us . Does a lot of frames for the guys and girls at radbmx .

sent him an email a while back. . well, 6 days ago..

He'd be handy if he's good, Wife can go see her mum and deal with the frame at the same time

There's no mental rush for anything though... all in good time 8)

i got quoted local £130 -ish maybe more if the blasting took longer.... Put me off , Sold the frame

ive never inquired for fear it will be too expensive :(

Dan did my frame; blasting, powdercoat and postage for £50. I thought it was a pretty good deal myself.

I'm surprised he hasn't replied to your e-mail. Maybe he's on holiday? Might be worth giving him a call?

Apparently frame and forks should be £40-£45. . . in the real world..

Looked at buying Halfords rattle cans to do the LTS on the cheap and it worked out at about that for the stripper, paper, primer, paint and lacquer :?

..

I get steel frames acid dipped for £5.

Then blasted, and powder coated for £20.

I know both the guys doing the work, and thus it's cheap, but still, they are making a few quid each.

Seeing a chap tomorrow who may just know someone who does sand blasting..

Wife is a dab hand at it but alas.. we have no equipmentt here..

Struggling at the min with cleaning excess crap from inside where the bottom bracket goes.. . it's proper minging on the LTS..
