I have just eaten three pieces of thick sliced Hovis granary toast, having cooled it to the correct temperature (It's the law) before spreading slightly salted butter and a good dollop of peanut butter on it.

No, you have to have butter melted into the toast then the peanut butter, it just does not taste right without the extra butter.
