Retro Newbie
I'm new to this site, and trying to get info to refurbish two Lemonds: a 1999 Buenos Aires and a 2002 Maillot Jaune. Both are road-worthy but showing their age. The main issue is finding replacement 9 speed Shimano brake lever shifters (need both a 105 for the Buenos Aires and 7700 Dura Ace for the Mailliot Jaune). The old ones have been replaced several times on each bike, and are failing again. Any suggestions?
If I can't find 9 speed shifters, I'm considering converting to 10 speed. Would love any thoughts as to the pros/cons of that move...
Also, any clues where to get decals? The cyclomondo site suggested in postings on this board are pretty specific unless I'm missing something.
Finally, I'm looking for any suggestions about where to find matching paint and finish. I would be grateful for a good reference suggestion.
