Wouldn't need to add a shim ~ this is a 25.4 stem.

I meant that mine with a shim would closer to 200g, so the race face is lighter, but I reckon I can find an oversized bar under the weight of my current bar, making my current stem the better option.

I'm not even sure if that makes sense lol :facepalm:

Let's turn it up a notch: I could get a 25.4 clamp stem at less than 130g to be a lighter option....that ones pretty easy lol

No problems there:
I bought a Dekerf a few years ago that had a Syntace stem on it. I'd never heard of them so googled and found they were subject to a recall, including mine. I sent it back and they sent me a brand new one! Not a bad deal on an 8 year old stem.
This is it, 4 years old but hardly used.
And yes, 25.4mm clamp. date of manufacture is 10 08. October '08 or August '10?

By the looks of the link that's week 10 of 2008 which should be fine. Nice and light too. Will have a think and drop you a message
