yep no win no fee my brother got knocked off his bicycle and just got a cheque for £3500 funny thing is he just wanted his bike fixed and offered the guy to settle out of court for £250! bet hes kicking himself he didnt take that offer!
In addition if the guy isnt insured claim against the Motor insurance bureau (MIB) look at their site explains it all.

bike accident....

It's never happened (thankfully)to me, but my partner recently ( I had the sheer horror of watching her climb out from under a Chelsea tractor) got knocked of her bike .She went no win no fee ,but in hindsight wishes she went through a local solicitor, only because no win no fee settle for a deal where as your legal aid local solicitor will turn the screws on to extract that bit/lot more cash out of the B*stard, you also get a more personal service,maybe this will make them take more care on the roads next time.
