Been here for a few years now but it has the potential to explode, massively addictive with some scientists saying that out of a 100 users 99 get addicted after one 'hit'

is the only reason they dont ban alcohol and cigarettes, and if they legalised all other drugs, they could tax lots, even it they were on prescription etc.

In my time i've had a go at all sorts and don't regret any of them. Never tried anything that is classed as highly addictive (except smokes and booze :roll: ) and most of what I've tried I've only done once regardless of how much I enjoyed the 'buzz'.

Always makes me laugh when people bang on about the terrors of 'hard drugs' but then go home and spark up a dobie. I know far more people that have been f*cked up by weed then any class A.

I couldn't agree more on that

I got 'caught out' slightly when I was younger by cannabis...IMO it's f**king dangerous stuff as the effects are not physical but mental.

Unfortunately, a large proportion of those it F's up don't realise it...

I've been told that the stuff thats out there right now is nothing like that was smoked back in the late 80's, 90's. Super strength Skunk, THC way up there off the scale. With the prevalence of Cannabis Factories, it is now becoming increasingly uncommon to find Resin on the UK's streets, bush is everywhere, available to an ever increasing younger market.

In my job it is becoming increasingly common to find 12 and 13 years old youngsters in possession. The end result may be an increase in mental health problems for persons in their teens and twenties.

The underlying problem though is this;

You are not going to get rid off Controlled Drugs off our streets
You are going to continue to criminalise whole generations of youngsters
You are continuing to fund criminality

It is now so easy to find virtually ANY substance that if you want it badly enough you can get it. Look at Heroin, most Towns have the regular addicts congregating together in certain areas, yet the numbers involved seem pretty stable. At the moment whether stuff is legal or not most people make a personal choice in becoming a user. Although I do admit that there are some very sad stories out there. By keeping these substances illegal and within the shadows of society we are in danger of letting our community's being destroyed from the inside out.

Get everything out in the open. Regulate the industry. Tax both Supply and Use. Stop criminalising users and prevent criminals from funding their lifestyles. We're not just talking about Joe Scroat here but many terrorist groups such as the Taliban and Al Qaeda fund their organisations through drugs. Anyone who's been to Afghan will tell you !!

Yep Las Vegas hell of a Town

1995 was still recovering from '89

Took my last illegal drug in 1991, through my own personal choice decided that Alcohol was enough. Though it must be said that during Uni, Alcohol was the 'root of all evil' and I've actually been Tee Total for the last 8 months!!

Still smoke though, my last and only vice.

I suppose I was lucky I got through the Summer of Love (1989 I was 18 !!!) and early 90's with a slight dabbling in Resin, LSD and Powder. As did a lot of my friends. My concern is that the strength of drugs coming onto the market in 2010 can make someone a user after just one 'hit.' Methamphetimine is my biggest concern and fear for people growing up today. This substance has destroyed whole community's within the States, particularly the Mid West. It can easily be sold under the pseudonym of another more well known drug and bang before you know it addict

Now that I'm a father and a 'responsible' member of the community my views on the whole Controlled Drugs subject is LEGALISE and CONTROL.

ive tried a few things, and have to say, i wasnt addicted, i only did them when i wanted too, but had good experiences (esp at the Decade of Dance held at Camden Palace in 2000 - so related to Human traffic) but it all depends on what you do, to why you do it, i see drugs as a circular bus route, it drops you off where you got on, so if you're using drugs to escape your life, then you will get nowhere.

But then there is the you dont always know what you're taking, and one could argue that you dont always know that you will be alive at the end of the day anyway.

You will never control drugs by legalising them.
Governments being what they are, they'll treat drugs as a cash cow, and tax them to the hilt. The criminal gangs will just undercut the legit stuff with stuff of unknown potency and purity.
