laptop system recovery

Have got a faulty hp laptop i want to sell as spares or repair. My question is if I run a full system recovery with the discs (called a destructive recovery) will it completey wipe my hard drive thereby making it safe for sale? Might be a stupid question but know nothing about pooters

Naw- it will overwrite much of the info on the HD, but it will still be theoretically recoverable- windows doesn't actually erase data, just 'forgets' where it is so it can be overwritten.
Ye'd need to use some kind of proper drive cleaner to totally erase the data.
