Kona Scab (or why I keep ended up with more bikes though I am trying to downsize)

I think I have worked out how it happens, I went to pick up a cheap Kona this morning, didn't even know the size just it was a Scab that had been left out in the rain for a few years. So I think I will pick it up and part it out since a need a few bits to finish off some existing Konas to sell.

So I pick it up and it's not bad, I have no idea about these things "jump bikes" I think but what does one do with them? However the frame is solid, the wheels look completely bullet proof and the Rockshox Psylo forks (again I know nothing about these) look in good nick at least visually.

So now I am thinking of fixing it up! So instead of this purchase helping with an N-1 strategy it has become the new +1.

Hmmmm maybe I'll get the hang of this game one day. :D IMG_2686.webp IMG_2685.webp

Great color too!

I built a Scab about 25 years ago as my winter bike, just pieced together from whatever bits I had laying around. I always loved the look of it, but man was it a punishing frame to ride!

They seem to be relatively rare; I've been looking for one for years and almost never see them come up on the market.
