kona rear brakes

Just a quick question...

I have a 1992 explosif. Is there supposed to be a cover (the flexible plastic tube/straw type) on the rear brake cable from the cable stop on the top-tube through to the cable guide on the set-tube?

I don't think so - weren't they only fitted in an attempt to stop the cables rubbing the paintwork anyway, same as those little rubber grommets which always bunch up at one end and never stay where they are going to do any good.

My 95 Kilauea had one when it arrived and they were the original cables  so in 95 yes they did :)
