Kona P2 forks £12 BIN

Well I see this a lot on this forum, so I will state my position.

I have used eBay for many years and bought literally thousands of items.

I rarely use the BIN option unless I see a sure fire bargain.

A project two with 140mm steerer is not worth more than £10 to me, so I bid accordingly.

One could argue that removing the BIN option now makes it more likely someone who really needs that fork with that size steerer will see it before it finishes and get it, rather than someone hunting bargains to sell on or leave sitting on a rack in a shed...

Each to their own, I would never bid only to remove a BIN option, so there is no element of spoiler or whatever else, except subjectively for those who see things differently.

ok; cool 8)

and on that note, it is now at £11.50

I'm sure I've seen auctions with a BIN and bidding running concurrently- is it possible?

Yes, but only if the auction aspect has a reserve. A reserve can only be set at a minimum of £50 so a low-price auction such as this couldn't be set up that way. Where no reserve is set, any bid will wipe out the BIN, which is (partly) why eBay introduced the BIN with 'best offer' format.

Thanks - I was wondering the same.
I sold a couple of items and didn't know why my own BIN disappeared when it remained visible on other auctions. Now I know. But it's a bit crap that you can't set it up on items < £50. Typically sneaky Ebay policies.

And, back on topic - Re. "a sure-fire bargain" - I think they ticked that box.

The "tight" comment was only tongue in cheek.

I thought these forks were a bargain at £12 but I am a proper short arse so they would have fitted one of my frames.

I'm also an experienced ebay buyer and I love a BIN bargain. I get a good deal and the seller gets their price, everyone's a winner IMO.

Each to their own, happy ebaying everybody :) .
