KONA HEI HEI

FATNIC

Retro Newbie
I don't know the age or much about the bike except that the guy who had it before me always had the best kit available. The front forks are new.
I am in Herts.

If people only want the frame then obviously the price is negotiable

Re:

I may be interested, but those pictures are pretty bad.
Could do with some complete bike shots so the spec can be seen.
Looks like a bit of a mix and match set up.

Re:

Someone here may be able to date this better than me but from what I tell….

It appears to be 1993 or earlier as it precedes the Bullet Dropouts that were on the 1994 models and later.

This means that it will be pre-suspension corrected geometry. Those forks therefore are way too long for this frame. This is very evident by the rise in the chain stay from the rear axle towards the bottom bracket – as opposed to the reverse scenario, which would be the desirable set-up.

If it is 1993 or earlier, then the ‘94 decals on the Downtube are replacements.

It is a 20” frame, and the B prefix is correct for a ’93 or earlier Hei Hei. I don’t recall however if we collectively ever established whether the serial number (in this instance 31) is total produced, or just from that year.

Nice to see the rear brake cable noodle still intact.

Pip.

Re:

its a 1991-1993 frame but with later graphics. forks are far too long in travel for that frame but for £500 thats a really good price

Re:

Given those forks need to come off, do you know how long they have been on? I'm thinking long term may have seen damage to the frame, hopefully not.

Re:

worth every penny of £500

-royce bracket
-hope hubs
-mis matched crank arms?
-mavic SUP ceramics
-xtr m950
-x-lite chicken sticks

Re:

I hope Nick gets the price for this, but as I have already said to him via email, it's a right mess of a build and all the money is in the frame.
Hope hubs? One is
Royce BB...well there is a sticker
Rims potentially very good, or knackered
Does the post move?
It has the provenance of a well fecked up bike with the potential of being a bargain if the forks haven't stressed the frame etc
Seriously not meaning to piss onyour parade but that's a big tidy up job...good luck with your sale
