Kona Explosif 94-95 19"

'nasty Tektro v-brakes. Painted with a stick by some previous owner'

He should go into advertising this chap...

That's actually a very nice bike, and will probably go for a song, do people not realise what a wonderful ride an Explosif gives, nothing short of a handbuilt frame compares.

I guess it could be an Explosif, but I wouldn't bet on it. Seller seems very genuine though and he is convinced, mainly from the weight which is 4-12, one ounce more than his 97 Explosif in the same size weighed. He tried to get confirmation from Kona, but they're very erratic in telling you anything from a bb number.

Decals are 96, P2s 95, but that tells you nothing. Brazed seat clamps went after 91 and frame is 93 or later, so clamp must be retro-fitted when it was painted. It also has a brazed V-brake cable stop, ditto. If it was 93/94 it would have a fluted down tube, but he doesn't mention that. If it was 95/96 it would have shaped Columbus Max tubes, but it doesn't look like it. I think he's right though that a Cinder Cone would weigh more.
