I bought this yesterday through the ads here and it is a very nice example with a couple of issues.
The good:
It's a one owner 1988 Kona Cindecome with splatter paint for £50
It has a fair share of original parts.
The paint is in pretty good condition.

The bad:
The seatpost is stuck
The stem is stuck

Here it is before I started to take it apart this morning.

Ta dah! Amazing what brute force and WD40 will do.
The seatpost was relatively straightforward, soaked in WD40 from the top and bottom (through a bottle cage hole). Left overnight, then frame stripped and seatpost held in bench vice while using the frame as leverage. Easy peasy.

The stem was more stubborn and I was beginning to worry since the option of dissolving or cutting out were not really on for a cromo stem. Again liberal dousing with WD40 from top and bottom and hefty blows with a soft mallet eventually showed progress with it starting to rotate so the seal was broken. Then it was a repeat of stem in vice and using frame as leverage and bingo! Stem is a little battered though but thats a loss I can take.

I haven't tried the BB yet though  🤞

So far so good! IMG_4267 2.webp
