Hi KG,

That is a beaut 8) Looks pristine, 18 is my perfect size too but I am a short arse compared to you

Will have to do a SW / Devon / minehead ride again soon, will have to aim for some time in July I think when the Ice cream weather is upon us !

Cheers

Cheers GM,

Really does ride beautifully. Started out with a plan to make it 'ridable' with no overly flashy bits, more 'nice-but-functional'.

Solid LX mech's, super reliable Rond headset, XT canti's/Tri Dangles/ Koolstops, LX cranks+Pace/M'burn/Shimano steel rings....all dependable stuff.

Really pleased with the Tioga stubbies, spoil the lines a bit but wouldn't take them off now.

Ride sounds like a great idea, really want to take the '88 Diamond Back out.

Matt.

Your on 8).............. proper retro then !

I will bring the Maverick in that case

How many you got now ? Im one down now as I got rid of my Modern Explosif (one with disc brake things) as I didn't ride it enough and had to fund some Garden work.

GM

Two rideable, the above and Stumpjumper, '88 Ascent EX that needs a bit of fettling.

'91 Ascent EX frame & forks (pristine and next on the list for build up) Orange Prestige frame and forks, Koa in bits but will fix back up as is another nice ride. A Trek 970, '88/9 ish, in bits + a C'dale '88 3.0 Series road bike that I rarely use but is a really 'involving' ride.

Getting into the early Diamond Backs, good quality frames for little money :D

Matt.

PS Love the Maverick, by the way 8)

Fancy my '90/'91 import Apex then? http://retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic. ... highlight=

Beautiful Kila btw.

I did look at that, out of interest, but will get the bikes I already have fixed up before thinking of adding more.

Somebody buy that frame, will be a rewarding ride

I'll be selling the M2 Stumpjumper frame and poss' the Prestige so maybe room in the future.

Cheers.

very nice! I just serviced an original one of these for a colleague at my work a couple of weeks ago. Her son had bought it new and then went off to uni and left it at home. It sat not being used for about 13 years. But once i'd serviced it and gave it a quick test ride it rode like new! What a machine! I was really impressed with it. I've told her if she wants to sell it? Then i'm on first dibs as the frame is a bit on the big side for her?? So here's hoping!! 8)

Greig.
