Just bought a Kia Ceed - 2007 CRDI 1.6.
since then its been back in the garage for 2 issues:
1: knocking noise from back end - turned out to be a stone in the rear spring coil
2: fuel filter light illuminated - water in the fuel filter. drained and now fine.
However, driving off this morning to work (cold start) and i mmediately notice that the car will NOT rev above 2800rpm.
this is common throughout all 5 gears.
Also, a second problem - at around 65-70mph and if sustained for around 3 minutes, there is a pulsing sound (a bit like a the effect a helicopter flying over head makes) except there was no helicopter around and when i started to break (after exiting the dual carriage way) the pulsing noise got worse and seemed to be coming from the front nearside wheel.
The garage so far has been helpful and sorted out the first 2 issues under warranty/since i reported the issues within the first couple of days after purchasing the car.
however, i'm not familiar with warranties/second hand car dealers and what my rights are/what the warranties generally cover. am i best to keep reporting this issues to the car dealership (not a Kia one, just your usual second hand car dealership with all sorts of cars), or should i go straight to a Kia garage and have them look at it under the RAC Warranty that comes with the car...???
i feel like this is just a bit of bad luck as the car generally is in good shape, with full Kia service history (last service in January this year) and no advisories on the MOT. new discs/pads and tyres as well.
I actually really dislike cars for this very reason. its been problem after problem with this car - regardless of how minor the firs 2 issues are, it seems the problems are getting worse/more technical now!
the cars done 80K miles, so pretty average for a car of its age....
