Ken Bird Too Good for Beater?

Hey,

Needed a new round town beater bike - so picked up this Ken Bird frame with a couple of parts.

Thought it would be in bad shape, but seems pretty good. The frame is straight and no dents. Some nice lugs too. Owner thought it may have been a touring bike.

Too good for my round town? Thoughts?
