well seeing as it was 5p listing day i took the oppourtunity to bung my s-works enduro on with a healthy BIN to my suprise it went straight away! so who else has purely retro bikes on here? my newest atm is 1997!
tha new carbon yeti is a sexy thing i just cant justify new bike prices or frame for that matter! as for retro with medern kit i guess my boty ss has modern marzocchis and brakes on it!
Me too, A '95 S Works FSR, a '95 Stumpy FSR on the way, and building an Orange X1 for a mate, so no modern's at all. Oh and the old '89 Bear Valley, forgot about her
My mtb's are retro. My Pinarello Rombo for regular use, although some retro parts have been 'downgraded' for newer ones. Still have a dale sm700 frame as well, but not in use.
My cyclo cross is an Alan. Eighties aluminium one, not very stiff at all, but she's a beauty.
For the road I still have my old Casati Cromor with mostly campy athena + record delta brakes Don't use it much though. That's the one bike I will never ever sell. Mostly using my modern Ridley compact, 3 years old. Has mostly campy chorus, mavic brakes (love em) and a miche grantour primato compact crankset.
Here is the good part. Went for a little ride up to Tryvann (known climb in Oslo) yesterday with 2 colleagues. Me on my early nineties Pinarello Rombo. The other 2 on a modern scott and carbon dale. The only thing they saw though was my rear wheel as I rode of in the distance. Oh that felt good
My only modern, a 2006 KHS Alite team is getting more use than ever, and has just justified itself for a new build with Hone/XT as apposed to the Deore it was built with. Sorry chaps but it is a really nice ride
