Just got to GLASTO!!!!

Glastonbury is my idea of hell. Crap music, crusty birds and horrendous toilets. Oh and usually mud. And tents. And student types being 'wacky'.

Rotterdam's where it's at. 8)

There are more music types to sample at Glastobury than you could ever imagine. I defy you to go to one, then come back and tell me you found nothing you liked.

On a similar level, all age groups were represented, yes there were students, children, 20's 30's 40's 50's 60's and 70 year olds. I have never been any where so openly inclusive and friendly with it.

You've no idea how narrow my interest in music is. To say it's niche is an understatement, there's very rarely any played in this country at all. :(

The sort of 70 year old who goes to Glastonbury isn't the sort I'd want a conversation with tbh. I'm interested in women under 30, not wrinkly old hippies getting down with the kids.

Each to their own though. :)

I have to agree that it would be pretty difficult to not find music or arts you are interested in at Glastonbury, it's massive!

TBH my view of it is kind of skewed as I work there and stay sober (mostly!), it's easier to see the open friendliness in people Rob when you have been at the Cider bus all day

Give me Reading / Leeds /IoW any day, much less posh types wandering around in denim shorts and £200 wellies trying not to get muddy

I'm not a massive fan of Reading as a festival. The music is usually spot on, but on the whole it's just dead. On the years I've been to Reading I've witnessed riots, ridiculous amounts of fires, along with far more urban hipsters and 'gap yah' scenesters than at Glasto. That's not to say Glasto isn't inundated with a different type of festival-goer, but that's part and parcel of the age of the internet. Gone are the days of getting up on Friday morning, heading to the ticket shop, then off to the bus station for a £3 return.

I'd argue that most walks of life have changed a hell of a lot in the last decade, mountain biking being one of them - the demographic is a lot different nowadays.

My view is skewed slightly as well as I worked there and it was f**king Some of the people you had serve were utter morons and not what you wanted to deal with at 3/4 in the morning!

I think I need to go again as a punter really to fully get into it....maybe 2013 :D
