Just got to GLASTO!!!!

I've been to every Glastonbury since '89 and I would be truly crestfallen if I didn't get my ticket when they come up. There's so much more going on than the BBC fuelled rubbish. You can really escape the music if you want; there's plenty of alternative attractions if you want it.

Wet this year (first for a couple of years) but that showed a lot of the posers (Mossettes we call them) what a real festival is like - loads of 'designer' wellies and trainers left trashed by the bins

As for the drug issue - if you don't like it, be like me and don't use it. Easy really. Alcohol is better anyway 8)

Arrived on site last Tuesday and come home Monday just gone...
Stayed in a Bongo, is that cheating?

Best bits: Biffy Clyro, Stacked Breakfast Rolls, Wu Tang, Chase & Status, Somerset cider bus, Chemical Bros, Pendulum, Tea in the hippy field, rain, Beyonce  sitting down watching everyone...

worst bits: U2, toilets on the monday morning, the mud after a day of sun...

Only 720 odd days to go till the next one...

Agree with the TV comment, it really doesn't show the full picture at all as there is so much to see & do.

Drugs (dealing and taking) was really blatant when I went in 2000 but seemed to be more evident in certain areas like the dance tent.

I went in 2003 and 2004.

2003 was awesome, we took a 1970s camper van which broke down several times on the way. The sun was out all weekend.

Walking in to the market area at about 11pm on the Wednesday night and just seeing this mass hive of activity and such a relaxed easy going atmosphere was utterly breathtaking.

Seeing a bloke laugh at his own shoe for fifteen minutes was pretty odd.

On the days when the bands were playing I found myself alone (through choice) I would just wander over to another stage if a band bored me.

In 2004 the rain came out so I discovered the Brothers Bar and got trashed on cider.

Hoestly that somerset cider bus was brilliant. Pint of the medium was all I needed to loosen up and start dancing like a fool. Who needs pills when there is scrumpy on offer.

Pills

Mushrooms are what its about down that way, druids and all that kind of thing

One of the joys of living locally is getting back home before 1am on Sunday/Monday and hitting the shower. I needed it.

I've lost count of how many Glasto's I've been to, and although it is different it is safer and less edgy. I didn't give my tent a single thought while I was out and about, and the scallies seemed far less numerous. Anyone who witnessed the 1999/2000 fence climbing and breaching will always be a little wary at festivals - that was a tough year for crime.

Musically it was superb, the Radiohead and Pulp 'surprise' slots were real highlights, DJ Shadow was incredible, Orbital's DJ slot in Arcadia was special and, as JeRkY mentioned, there were some great sets up in Avalon. I caught the end of Flogging Molly and it looked a bit mental. TV on the Radio covering the Ghostbusters theme is also worth a mention.

So much gets made of the weather (and mud) but I've been hardened by being a mountain biker. Mud? Pah...

And yes, a warm pint (or many) from the Cider Bus at 1am is bliss, espcially when combined with a curry. As was the Brothers selling festival strength cider in Tesco for £20 for 36 cans. Result! http://www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/ ... =268461509

I'm back and ruff as, Been I'll for days self inflicted
And to the haters leave it out?!?! I was at the festival on a free
ticket off a pal, and wanted to see what other RB members wanted to say, hear, see etc?

I'm a 33 yr old man, no kids, no morg, so no ties?
All I want to do is keep happy and enjoy my life?
Some people on here are cynical but it's a public forum
So alls fair? Just don't slate and hate for no reason?
Thanks Daz
