Any chance of a few pointers to stripping down a pair of Judys. They are called hydracoil xc. Theres 2 capscrews on the bottom of the legs and the 2 plastic adjusters at the top and thats about it really.

The top caps should unscrew giving access to the plastic spacers and springs. You then need to undo the cap head bolts in the bottom of the legs, but not all the way out, and then tap them to release the internal taper. You should then be able to pull them apart (once you've finally taken the bolts out! ).
I would say that all the oil will come out when you undo the bolts, but it will be long gone by now. :D

I've got to say, taking them apart makes it much easier to get them in the bin.

Heya cheeky monkey  I take they aren't held in too high an esteem?

Right, how do you get the oil back in? And how much? And what kind of oil is it?

I just don't like Poxshox forks, but that's just a personal prejudice along the lines of "they're the cycling equivalent of Microsoft and should burn, BURN, BURN!!!

[cough!] sorry.

Anyhoo. For reasons that I will not enter into; I have a pair of said Hydrocoils that I have stripped and rebuilt.

The oil goes in from the top as far as I know. Type and quantity is something I know not. (Not got round to that yet!).

www.angryasian.com is usually a good source for that type of info though.

Cheers both. 8) Lots of good info. Hopefully have a nice slick set of forks at the end of it.

Which reminds me, cherrybomb would it be possible to take you up on your generous offer of the brake cable stop fork mount thing, next time your at hawk cycles? Please don't feel obliged, though I will talk behind your back

Sure. It gives me an excuse to go shopping. :D

I'll pop in on Monday.

(It might be worth reminding me again tomorrow. )
