Can anyone recommend some jeans that won't make me look like a total twat?!

All I can seem to find are those dreadful things all the kids wear, you know the ones with the crotch round ye knees & loads of lary white logos  Hardly appropriate for a gentleman of my years :?

Ok, so a cycling forum populated by middle aged cyclist is hardly the best place to ask fashion advise but, I thought a give you Gok's a chance before I give in & just buy another pair of classic Levi 501's

Best thing is to go try some on. There are many companies and so many different styles which can vary wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer even for the same styles.

Try tk maxx and places like that.

Jeans?? I've given up on jeans......prefer some nice elasticated waist slacks and a cardigan nowadays.......

I hear BHS have a nice range of elasticated waist slacks with the full gamut of shades from biege through to brown

I always wore 501, and probably always will.
Sure, they're £70-ish a piece and I wear out 4 of them each year on my bike, but IMO there's nothing better.

At 33, I'm way too old for that "crotch at knee height" stuff that youngsters dare to call "jeans"

Howies are very nice and comfortable but expensive - although they have a sale on at the moment which is nice!

as much as i detest the supermarket jiants, i find the £15/20 tesco/asda jeans to be comfy and smart

I swear by Carhartt jeans these days, you get to a point in your life where the mid-riff becomes a tyre and the Carhartt's seem to take this in their stride without making me look like a plonker!
