Had a Yamaha RD 250, the one with the round tank in the year 1977AD

Came off the bugger on Kew Bridge and it sat unused in my front garden for a long while after that.
Chap knocked one night and asked if it was for sale as he saw it sat there every day on his way to work

There endeth my motorised bike period although my mates water cooled Suzuki 750GT often made me envious although not quite enough to have another bash

That would have been my 'hood back in '77 Huntso. Late '77 I would have been on my brand-spanking CB400F having passed my full in September....earlier on the year it would have been the fizzy or my brothers '77 Bonneville duly nicked from the garage as he commuted to work.
The 'gang' would have hung-out in a burger bar in Twickenham (can't remember the name) or in the Angel and Crown (Richmond) or in a friends house near the long-ago closed Madinlay (sp) club on the river in Richmond.

Yours was a YDSA something I seem to remember

Was working at Kew next to a Fullers pub called the Waggon and Horses and seeing a young lady who lived in Kingston, all a long way from my East London home. She was lovely though and became wife number one, came to wish that bloke had taken her along with the motorcycle

Long while ago now, bike might might have been a YDS7, but don't quote me on that. Do know it went rather fast very quickly from a standstill and would no doubt scare me shitless now

Boooooooooooorrrrrr.....that induction noise is never forgotten...ah...sweet sweet memories

To be fair, they were pretty slow my last 250 stroker (back when I was 45 ) was a lightly tuned KR1-S with Nikon spannies and Kimber carbon ends....THAT was silly fast for a 250

Got a '91 Gixer 1127 sleeping in the garage, previous to that was an '81 GS1000E, '81 GSX750 and a '81 GS550 (the only bike I ever owned from new) as you can see I've been mainly a Suzuki guy but I have had a couple of Hondas in my early years (250T and 250 wet dream) and started out on a Yam DT125E.

Always lusted over the 11 Katana.
