...opportunities to ride.

First it was the weather. - The snowy magical baiku-able wintry wonderland rides fast turned into not being able to go anywhere because of an ice shelf wrapped over southern En-Ger-Land like cling film on a W.I rock bun.

Then came the colds. - I say colds because it would seem after not having one for years, I got two back to back. And as I write this Mrs Wu has one so I wouldn't be at all surprised if that became three by the next biking opportunity. Quite ridicuous. My nose hurts. And is red.

Now a combination of all that ice, snow and copious snot ejected from my afore mentioned nasal cavities has resulted in the South Downs being more claggy that I can remember in 20 years.

And what's coming this weekend if I can shift cold 2 and avoid cold 3? Bloody snow and ice.

Emmigration plan forming again.

As you were.

Australia is generally very nice this time of year... if you like sun and beaches.

bit scared of the spiders though.

Used to say that the UK was good because it had benine wildlife and humans were inert to spiders etc here.

but this can no longer be said of the natives. So perhaps spiders and snakes are easier to deal with than roving underclass?

I can't say I've had any more colds than normal, but I agree with your other two points - my works still buggered by the weather - lots of projects have been delayed by months because of the crap weather before xmas and the snow after!!!

And I agree with The Downs being extra claggy, I can't remember it being any worse! - Last weekend when I went out, we had to stop probably 4 times to free up mechs etc, tyres were clogged instantly and this was on the SDW!!! Made all the more galling by the fat bloke in full lycra who wafted past whistling, gave us a cheery 'afternoon!' and carried on without a spec of mud on him!! :? :?

was that me?

ah, probably not as I had a bloody cold no doubt.

I'd say serve you right for going out in that weather  Wouldn't catch me on a bike this time of year.
Just look at the damage/expense/ extra cleaning work you have done to the bike(s) And on top of that you have run your bodies defence system down to such a level that your getting a virus twice
That is not good.
Their are lots of other things to do this time of year in doors in the warm.
Get well soon Mrs Wu

Oh i wouldn't want to find a red back in my shoe before a ride or a Sidney funnel web either.
