iTunes blues. Lost my music collection. Help!

Don't let iTunes control your files.

Bad idea.

Just add the folder where you store them, and don't give iTunes any authority.

Why on earth let any software decide what you can or cannot do with your files?

New laptop.

Old one got left on a train.

I have about 65GB of music on my iPod and have tried to lad a new version of iTunes to my computer and it will not let me sync my iPod to it as it thinks I am trying to share music.

Rang Apple support, very nice people but all they could suggest was but an aftermarket music piracy software (like iRip) to allow my iPod to upload to my iTunes.

Anyone have any experience of these, what is best.

Cheers.

dont see where it asks for opinions! just help

Okay guys, here's the gen.

Tried the LGF method but found that I was getting a bit nowhere fast as I am all thumbs when it comes to computers.

Bought iRip from "The Little App Shop" for $19 by PayPal.

Within 5 mins had the necesary software on my computer.

It took nearly 2 hours to download all 64GB off the iPod onto a folder I created on an external hard drive, all this data is saved for ever outside iTunes. No privacy controls etc etc. As far a iTunes is concerned it is just a music folder.

Then loaded up a new iTunes, told it to import said folder.

This done (another hour or so) I synced my iPod and it is fine. No problems.

Well worth the price I would say. :D

didnt see this thread up to now,had the same problem,i used iCopyExpert and it worked fine.

Ive backed up all my music onto memory sticks now
