It's my birthday today! I received this card from my parents and it is uncannily true. I haven't got a scanner so the resulting photo isn't very clear but the frame looks titanium to me. Gripshift and very early cantilever brakes. I am sure the race number has 'The Midland Classic' on it. The message reads:
You started in the 'novice' races then progressed to 'fun'.
You've had a go at racing 'sport' and very nearly won.
Although your progress through the ranks hasn't finished yet,
I think before you reach 'elite' they'll class you as a 'vet.
Like I said very true, apart from the third line!
