It's always something... (stripped granny ring threads)

There's always one last detail holding you up :)

Discovered a stripped chainring bolt hole as I was doing final assembly on the Hei Hei. It's a weird size M8x0.75 (extrafine). After a bit of digging I was able to find some recoil brand inserts in Australia, They're a little longer than the thickness of the spider on my RaceFace I-Beams, so I'll need to trim them with a dremel (bought plenty of extras :)).

What's the "one last tiny thing" holding up your current build?

Cheers, Ted

Thought about it over coffee. Coulda had the hole built back up by a laser welder and then re-tapped it. Probably looking at a $20+$15.

me - old 1" Mag 20 steering tube is now a half inch too short (diff stack height with new headset) ... and try to find a vintage Rockshox Mag 20/21 crown with a threaded and longer than 190mm 1" steerer ...

That might still be the way to go Stu. I'm giving it a 50/50 chance that I get the stuff out of Aus :). I was going to ghetto it with an m6 cap screw and a nylock nut until the inserts arrived.
