It was only a matter of time before....another GT

Well, today whilst I was at work my daughter took delivery of two parcels.
One of those parcels came shipped from Cornwall, courtesy of @raidan73, who sold me his 1991 GT Zaskar frame, forks and saddle.
The second parcel contained some Shimano Deore XT drivetrain and brake components suitable for this Zaskar project.
I was quite excited to receive those parcels as it meant I'd have another project to get started with.
It probably won't get put together as fast as my 1992 Bravado I did last year, as certain parts are going to be harder to find, but you'll never know, right?
Anyway, as most of you know by now I am a big GT fan and currently own eight complete GT bikes (that's quite a lot for me at least), however I felt something was missing from my collection and an essential piece of GT heritage. a 1991 GT Zaskar would have to be part of my collection at some point or another.
Me and @raidan73 got talking and we agreed for me to buy his 1991 Zaskar frame and forks (+ original saddle).
The frame and forks will need some TLC, like a good polish and the forks need repainting, but that is part of this project and a challenge for me to undertake.
Props to @raidan73 for a great job in packing the the frame and forks!
Then obviously the Shimano XT parts for this build which came from Italy, whilst not exactly the cheap I figured it worked out cheaper than buying those parts separately. It did also come with a Shimano XT front derailleur which sadly doesn't fit, but I was aware that that could happen. So that front derailleur needs swapping out for a larger diameter clamp. Before I decided to buy the Shimano parts I did actually look into kitting it out with Suntour parts and started looking for suitable drivetrain and brake parts, but ended up finding this Shimano XT parts set instead and felt it would still do the Zaskar justice. Apart from the fact that I really like Shimano kit and only my most modern Zaskar comes with Sram eagle NX (Yeah, I know, I cheated:p, sorry Shimano), though it has Shimano hydraulic brakes fitted!
I already have Ritchey Megabite tyres (amber wall) waiting to go on a decent set of wheels when I find them.
Still have a few more parts to find to complete this build But I am not going to rush myself.;)
