ISO threaded headset and Italian fork

Anyone here fitted a British threaded headset on an Italian frame? I've read Sheldon Brown et al and know there's a slight difference in the way the thread is cut and a 0.1mm difference in the crown race dia between the old Italian headsets and ISO. So I know the theory. What's the reality?

- Any special prep needed?
- Anyone noticed any problems later on when servicing the headset?
- Would an alloy ISO headset (current Record) be more forgiving to the fork threads than a steel headset like a Tange?
