Is this Pollard a Holdsworth in disquise?

I have a lovely Pollard which I like a lot. At least that's what I thought it was. I've just bought a Holdsworth Super Mistral and I've realised that my Pollard is exactly the same frame, same lugs, same features, everything - the only difference I can find is the different style of frame number under the BB. So, is my Pollard actually a re-branded Super Mistral?

Re:

It looks about 1970. The Holdsworthy Company were well known suppliers to the trade, with frames with their own brands and own name as well. Also main trade supplier of many lines, importer of Campagnolo, Fiamme etc.

After looking closely at a lot of English bikes on t'web these features on a lot of 531 frames (wraparound seat stays, prugnat lugs and these particular headtube lugs) so either it was a popular design that many manufacturers used, or a lot of manufacturers were sourcing their tubes and lugs from the same place. As far as I know Pollard built and brazed their own frames, but information on the web is very difficult to come by for Pollard bikes.

nice to see another pollard hope you use it , mines my daily commuter and weekend ride in fact its a fantastic bike

Classic Lightweights have some info. on Pollards
<< http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bu ... llard.html >> the lugs/wrapover & crown etc. are fairly generic for a frame built from the early 60's through to the mid 70's and as the earlier post suggests lots of lightweight builders used these for building their 531 frames......although this doesn't answer your enquiry if it is a genuine Pollard the b/b number though should help establish its provenance
