How do I recognize top from bottom

Looks like bottom pull to me.

The cable fixing bolt is on the top arm so it's a bottom pull. Chances are somebody will now chip in with "My xxx is top pull and has the bolt on the top arm".

Pretty sure Dura Ace would all be bottom pull...top pull more an Mtb thing.

Looking at the 2nd picture the only way the derailleur is going to swing out is if the clamp is pulled down.

Yes, that’s what I thought - as every 7700 mech I’ve seen is like this and I thought surely all aren’t the same

If it was top pull it would be placed at the top pin of the back plate

I can't think of any road front derailleur that would be top pull.
