Is this a crack

My heid is full, full, of inconsequential trivia accumulated over many decades. Seems like some of it I remember for a reason, some useful, some is "why did I bother?" Jeezo, now I'm gonnae have to check this oot.

There are probably quite a lot of different ways of doing DPI crack detection without buying the proper materials. For example, red drain tracing dye, red food dye, and red fabric dye are all readily available. And as another forum member suggested, a thin dusting of talcum powder might work well as a developer to reveal any cracks present. I'd guess that the main criteria is that the dye is thin and runny so that it penetrates the crack, and is drawn in by capillary action.

Talcum powdering cracks? You sad, sad, sad lot of weirdos. Talcum powder is for innertubes.
Love a good bit of talc on inner tubes! It's the only reason why I've ever bought talc. Best keep hold of your supply before J&J remove it from sale and change the formula due to links with cancer...
