Is there any demand for re anodised XTR950 cranks?

Im considering doing a run of re-anodised XTR 950 Cranks. They will be the same colour as original but won't have the Shimano XTR writing on. You can add a sticker for this if required. Would there be demand for these? How much would people be prepared to pay for them? I need to establish if its worth the effort and time of tooling or if they will be just shunned from the community because they don't have the writing on.

Re:

why would you bother, they're painted originally, not anodised, easy enough to re-paint in a shade that was close?

by the time you bought and polished a set prior to ano the cost would probably be prohibitive imho

just my tuppence 8)

Re:

I thought they were anodised. They look anodised. The cost prohibitive thing comes down to what people would be prepared to pay for a clean looking set.

I have sold a tidy set for ~£100
I have sold a stripped and polished set for ~£100
I have sold a slightly rough set for not much less than £100

I would say that there will be a market for good quality, tidy looking cranks even if they are not original.
At the end of the day they are still xtr which means quality to a lot of people.

Maybe not to the purists on here though, ebay is your friend for things like that.
And depending on how cheap you can get donor set it might make you a few £££ but I dont think it will mean early retirement!

Re:

lol it's not a get rich quick idea obviously. The part would still be original the arms would be refinished perfect in the same way they were when original. If they weren't perfect I wouldn't bother trying to sell at all. The only part different would be the writing as I don't have an XTR template to spray over in silver or a laser painter.

Re:

I'm more concerned if they are painted not anodised. I've never seen one close up. Can someone who has help?

Re:

Well if I'm right about them being anodised, if I can get the colour matched perfect the result will be 100% perfect.

Yep I can help, got a pair under my feet right now. They are painted.
I did draw the writing out, I was going to try powder coating them and I
have an idea how to apply powder thru a stencil for the writing.
