Is it really worth it?

So your just looking to cut up everything I say..

No. I'm trying to point out to you that a thread whining about how hard done by you are is your own doing and you have the resources to hand to fix it.

Sentiment is the luxury of those who can afford it.

I bought a laptop yes but I didn't use the money from the bike. I don't see why exactly I need to explain my exact spending on everything I buy or sell...

Absolutely not.. but when you claim you're selling a bike (that is perfect to ride) to fund a £1300 laptop (you really are hard done by aren't you), then claim it was because you didn't like the ride it does cast a doubt as to your integrity.

If you don't want people to question your morals and motives, don't post things that blatantly contradict your earlier statements.

I'm not a liar Ian.

We'll disagree on that one too then..
Was it a 9/10 red ano Zaskar frame you sold? The one I sold you that was, at best, 6/10?
And then neglected to inform a potential buyer that the serial number had been pretty much scratched off, so that when someone warned him about it he came to me to clarify?
Not including any indiscretions under your second ID, of course.

Very little you say can be trusted mate, you know it, I know it, people who know you know it.

Please don't pour out some hard done by tales of how hard your life is.. it's baloney. MTFU.

Why I choose to sell my bikes is none of your business though is it.

I have things I will keep. Wether you think I should sell it or not doesn't matter too me to be honest.

I posted on here thinking I may get constructive criticism which I have and then there are people telling me to sell things that mean everything to me.

I'm not even sure why your back here to be honest. Did Scott kick you out of the group? Because you went away for a long time onto that site so you came back here..

That's beside the point anyway. What I choose to keep is my business. There are nigh on no jobs available for someone with my age and experience. Plus I can't go to college for another year now as its not free because ill be 19 when the year starts.

That group is 4 people equally you idiot.

Mikeedim.. better to keep your mouth closed and people think you're an idiot than to open it and let them know it.

Deceit, lies, bullcrap.. it's all there for the world to see.

You typify what is wrong with todays youth.
A crappy motorbike means the world to you. Good. But don't whine like a bitch about how hard done by you are.

So?

Make do.

That's what everybody had to do in the past - rather than thinking about some sense of entitlement, or some seriously good bike to put the lead back in their pencil.

When I was your age (in 1988) I had a Raleigh Mustang FFS, worked 25 hours a day, man and boy, and spent spare money on pointless upgrades to a faux mountain bike.

Think yourself lucky, and make the best of what you've got. When you're working and have a decent income, you'll have all the time and money in the world to go upmarket again.

A question for you - have you got sufficient bits and frames to make at least one decent, usable bike? If so, quit your whining and get busy.

so what frame is it you want to buy ?

if it's a unicorn frame just get it, and build it up in the future.

as for sentimentality. i needed some funds so i sold my newley acquired dolomite klein attitude. it cost me £1200 to build, i sold it on for £2500.
paid some bills and funded my merlin titanium build.

i left school with c's & d's. after 10 years of yts schemes & agencies got a descent job.

and when i was your age i had a humble raleigh montage.

if i were you i'd see about working part time in a bike shop.

I've tried getting part time work in a bike shop.

No one will take me without a cytech, though I have quite a bit of experience.

When I was your age........... .......i'd milk cow int morning, count the chickens, go tut mill work a 15 hour day, come home, do a night shift, and still av enough change for a pair o boots and a packet of scratchings........eh all i wanted was a leather Brooks saddle, but it took me twenty years, twenty of hard blisters just to break the ba*tard in when i finally got it ! wish i'd bought a Charge spoon instead :D

If one of my kids had financial ills when I am gone, the last thing I would have wanted was for them to hold on to material things that could be used to help out.

The sentimental issue is understandable, but we first and foremost want our sprogs to thrive.
