Is it really worth it?

No. I dont have a fat and a zaskar. I did have them. They were sold and I lost on them bot.

Now I have a badly dented zaskar frame that's retired.

I wonder if its really worth it every day, sometimes several times a day :?

Then i got for a blast on any bike thats working 8)

Fresh air, nobody for miles - wow

I sold the zaskar to fund the fat and when I sold the fat I got about 800 total and my mum took 400.

So I sold more things to fund the avalanche and then got the ridge things cheap, well what isold for and now I've kept a bunch of the parts for my new build which I want to be able to use daily and ride for fun which is something I haven't done for about 2 years.

I agree, all of my bikes are not working. I have 1 crank set for my mtbs and one for my road frames.

My complete road bike needs a lot of work and I don't have a built mtb with selling the ridge.

Surely you've got a fair amount of time on your hands?

That's not something to be sniffed at - depending on how life turns out for you, free time can be one of the most significant commodities.

Sounds like you've got sufficient parts to build up at least one decent bike, maybe a mountain bike and a road bike - so be grateful with that and get to work on it - it's a damn sight more than I had at your age.

No point moaning because you haven't got anything inspirational to motivate you to build up a bike - build one up with what you've got - dented or otherwise. Ride it and be grateful you've got at least half-decent kit - 'cos many, here, going back a couple of decades, or more, didn't at that sort of age.

You can worry about whether kit is worthy, aspirational or motivational when you're older, working and have money.

I find just logging on here and looking at the project pages motivates me, there are some pretty normal bikes on here that have been transformed with some work 8)

Yes it is. You have the resources and refuse to use them.
It's a tatty old Suzuki unless you've spent a load of cash (that your mum takes) on it.
A year ago it wasn't even running but now it runs like a dream but you don't (or didn't) have the expertise to sort it.

the fat was parted because I didn't like the way it rode at all. Probably because it was a size too small.

Odd.. your sale thread said it had to go because you needed a new laptop of a similar spec to the old one..

Good liars have to have great memories.

So your just looking to cut up everything I say.

I have taken the time and got the help to rebuild the engine, it didn't take a load of cash. Infact it was less than 100 doing it myself.

I bought a laptop yes but I didn't use the money from the bike. I don't see why exactly I need to explain my exact spending on everything I buy or sell..

I'm not a liar Ian.
