...that's having a pretty crappy time with Fleabay at the moment.

In the last 2 weeks I've bid on 4 things
The FUNK (/cry)
Grafton Brakes
Grafton Levers
Machine Tech Stem (/cry some more)

IN each case I've been the "runner up"

You win some, you loose some...Looking forward to winning
It's not as though the bids I've used have been low - I wanted them & bidded accordingly.

Patience grasshopper & all that!

Same for me, there have been a few things that I've wanted that have obviously been between me and a.n.other and I've lost out. What goes around comes around though, better to stick to your prices and lose than allow yourself to pay over the odds for something I reckon.

Who says you 'lost'? If you think an item is worth x and you bid x and it sells for x+10, then the so-called winner is an idiot in your opinion.

Robert Maxwell went bankrupt by being so obsessed with 'winning' takeover battles that he would pay whatever it took. He didn't buy bad companies, he just paid over the odds every time. And ended up face-down in the ocean, silly sod.

If you want it bad enough, you really gotta go big.

Always someone better. Someone with more money. Better timing. Wants it more....


But when you do find what you're looking for and you get it for a song...it feels that much better.

I am desperate for some new shoes after my M110's split at the weekend.

I found a pair of shoes on EvilBay with 9hrs to go, and no bids on them. They were used, but only light use, so I put a bid on. I was winning up to 30 secs to go, and got outbid. I bid again.....winning....and with 5 secs to go lost them :cry:

A month or so back I also lost a NOS GT pit shirt in the very same way :cry:

Makes me sick it really does :x

Have to agree, its all swings and round-abouts - you win some, you loose some, and sometimes you have to go high in order to get something you really want.

Just because you were the first loser doesn't mean you were close to getting the item either, I know that on one item the winner was happy to go 2x what I bid for a frame, so in reality I didn't get close to winning.

Yea, I know you could put in a stupid high max bid, but at the time of bidding you dont think like that.
