Is it a Zaskar?

Leafing through volume 3 of a Bikenet catalog (1998?), I came across a plethora of 'flat cap' GT's

Avalanche

Pantera

Backwoods

Visually identical to that year's Zaskar (but for once not the LE with its integrated seat clamp).

Just thought I'd make you all aware.

Could it be that they rebadged some because they didn't have them to hand for the photo shoot?

with different groupsets, forks, stems etc?

They looked the same but the Zaskar got the nicer 6061 tubing and the others were made out of something cheaper if I recall

yes but many use the 'flat cap' as an quick conformation that its a zaskar. the frame material is stamped on the dropouts
