Is Google maps adequate

Looked into Viewranger.. £4 to buy .. not bad methinks. . .

Then maps are £18+ each

Would like an overlay for Google maps for bridlepaths and public rights of way etc. . .

Have a look at RMaps on Android Market.

Couple of good features :

Open source OS maps
You can put GPX routes in it's folder on your memory card and load them in for navigation while you're on the bike.

There's one or two apps that use the open source and free OS stuff.

Don't really get on with multimap on the desktop pc.. prefer google maps.. p'raps only because that's what I've used more :?

How do you see where anything is other than roads, houses and trees, ... try finding a footpath or bridleway ;)

I prefer multimap too, for the OS maps...........easy to take some screen grabs to use on my iPAQ (cooncil gps!!).
