Introducing myself

Dirt Disciple
Hi, I´m DavidT and new to this forum. I´ve recently acquired a vintage Carlton frame in rather bad condition but I´m hoping to restore it to its former glory. Sadly, its condition is so bad that there´s no clue as to its identity but, as soon as I´ve familiarised myself with this site (which could take some time, as I´m 75 years old and not exactly computer savvy although still able to push the pedals round on my current bike...very slowwwwwly !) I´ll post some photos in the hope that someone might be able to help me to identify it.

Hi originalshinkicker,

Many thanks for your welcome which is greatly appreciated as I am a total newbie to any online forum !

I looked at the link to your Raleigh Bicycles, and was blown away by the quality, care and time you must have spent bringing them to their current condition, let alone what it must have cost you.

I´ve now posted a new thread, and included a few photos of my old Carlton frame, in the hope that someone can help me to identify it, so that I can proceed with its refurbishment.

Any advice on how to get started would also be deeply appreciated, together with any suggestions as to where I might have the head-lugs re-chromed, at a reasonable cost, as my pension won´t stretch too far !
