INTERNATIONAL POSTAGE

Take it yourself on Easyjet for half that and have a couple of nights in a B&B and a few beers with the change.

I just sent a bike to Archangle in Finland. I looked into Fed-ex a few Web things Parcel Force and just mailing it outright...oh and the idea of just flying.
Parcel Force turned out to be the best because of cost/insurance/tracking.

The cost of shipping Parcel force changed each time I checked into it and also.......Tumdilly Dum De Dum wether you had it picked up or took it to the Post Office. I only found this out by deciding to just take it and not wait (all f**in day) to have someone pick it up.

Also to book on line the package must have very specific measurements that will require you to dismantle the bike alot (the web page will not work unless you can enter the mystery mesurements). But again if you go to the post office they dont give a damn if its slightly over in length but under in width....at least mine did'nt.

And it cost something like £80 to ship with £500 insurance cover. It did take about a week when thay said 3-5 days. However it did arrive and in ok condition.

Not sure this is relevant to Europe but..

Been having a chat with scant about this and I used these guys to get essentially a complete bike [bike-boxed] from Aus to UK for about GBP150..

www.Jetta.com.au

Was a bit of a hassle in that I chose to pick it up from Gatwick and save a bit of cash rather than the Door to Door option.. They are essentially an Excess Baggage company..

That means the europarcel option mustn't exceed 2m x 1m x 0.5m, that's a fair size.

You can disassemble a bike and fit it in a box that size.

Even at £30.95+vat, it's still way cheaper than the post office, and unless you have a shipping agreement with a courier through work, nobody else will be cheaper.

I've tried almost every courier in the country, and shipping large stuff is quite dear. the 2 cheapest in the country that i've found is P2G, and Postvan.

If you find cheaper let me know :D
