Instructions for Pace rc36 evo III

Anyone got a copy of pace evo III instructions they could scan for me?

Pace don’t have them and just wanna make sure I adjust them properly and know what I am doing to get them working their best for me.

Many thanks

Re:

I have instructions on all Pace forks but printer/scanner up the creek at the mo!!

Basically; big black adjuster is rebound damping, screwed fully in[careful not to bind it] is max damping, about 4 turns out is min damping, any further will make no change and is only required if you are going to remove the control valve assy to change the oil [80ml of 10wt]. The small screw in the middle of the black adjuster is the compression damping, screwed fully in[carefully] is min damping and fully out is max.
Air pressure was set at 40psi when they left the factory, don't go more than 60psi. You need a harder coil spring if the fork does not support at this pressure. It will probably leak!! Small black cap on other leg covers the spring preload screw that you can adjust to set the forks sag.

That is about it really, hope that helps :D

Re:

Must be missing black cover.

Didn’t realise was a spring in side with black cover as thought spring/oil was one side and other was air. Or does it adjust the air somehow?

Hopefully be good as were serviced about 2yr ago and not used since and seem to hold pressure nicely. So fingers crossed they won’t need attention straight away

How much sag would be good for well adjusted set?

Hope to god I have strong spring already hahahaha

Re:

Any quick idiots tips on setting them and what to adjust first and why?

Am very heavy so had planned on near the 55-60psi in air side

Re:

I have some of the plastic caps.

The fork has two springs in the lh stanchion, the main and supplementary. The large slotted screw adjusts the preload. You should have about something like 10 to 20mm of sag when sat still on the bike.

The oil is contained in the damper in the rh stanchion, the air is contained [hopefully] in the rh carbon and can be adjusted for pressure via the schrader valve. The Evo3 is essentially a coil sprung fork and the air is only really there as an assistance and to provide further adjustment, hence the low pressure, 60psi should be max really, any more and the compliancy of the ride will be compromised.

If you are over 13 stone then you really could do with a hard coil spring, you can check to see if yours is medium or hard; hard spring will have a bit of blue paint on it.

Re:

Ok... now I know what each control does i’ll see if can find guide that helps me decide what to set first, where to set them and when/why to adjust for best ride

Will look at spring at some point but as pace don’t have any heavy springs left then may take a while to find some A’s guess they don’t come up every day

Ideally you need to get make sure you have the correct weight spring first. Then its just a case of adjusting the damping to control the spring, as above....

....and you wont get a better guide than Tim to help

Re:

Yes but trouble is heavy springs aren’t avail off the shelf so can’t so need to adjust best I can based on what’s in there.

Who’s Tim? Will look up and see if can find some good videos on setup

Re:

Ah cool, guess i’ll Have a good idea with 55-60psi in them if sag is a fair bit more than 20% then springs likely soft.
