Innovations that weren't...

I am over six decades and a lot now

I have a rough translation

sick - as in 'what did you think of the competition/component/jump/weather/etc etc - sick = noteworthy and quite good
rad - as in 'that cutty was rad...' rad = noteworthy and quite good
rig - as in 'nice rig' - rig = noteworthy and quite good bicycle
shred - as in 'she shredded it' - shred = noteworthy and quite good riding
send - as in 'send it boy!' - send = to do something noteworthy and quite good
loose - as in 'you were super-loose' - loose = to do something noteworthy and quite good
grom - as in 'The Grom' - grom = noteworthy and quite good young rider
dialled - as in 'that rig is really sick' - dialled = noteworthy and quite good bicycle
bro - as in 'woah you are so rad, taking that sick line, it was really sketchy but you shredded it, and so loose through the woods, you must have that rig really dialled...' bro = noteworthy and quite good rider

It's exhausting
Exhausting isn't the adjective I'd have used 😑

You missed gnarly, that one is still a mystery.

Ooohh I just came back from the MTBR with another language innovation to share, "whip" is the new "rig". I'll quote them directly
"I’m in the process of dialing in a new XC (-ish) whip."
I thought WIP was work in progress. But the term Whip comes from horses I think, in which case, I'm going to start using the term "fillie".

Sod 'whip'

The Grom and I - when we actually ride together since he is now 400 miles away in Wales - have adopted the latest 'now' patois

'Quite good' - as in 'that was quite good' - quite good = quite good

variants quite good, rather good, goodish

Ok - as in 'how was that?' 'OK' - OK = OK

variants OK, OK ish, not OK

f....d - as in 'that's f....d' - f....d = f....d

variants f....d, quite f....d and really f....d

hmmmm - as in 'is that even possibly do-able?' 'hmmmmm' - hmmmm = not sure

as in the last post, a complete phrase:

'Well I thought that was do-able and although the top section was quite good, the last bit through the rock garden was not OK, and now my rear rim is really f....d' 'will it ride the five miles to the car park?' 'Hmmmmmmm'

Can't understand a word of it. I personally think it will never catch on. What hope for the English language.

Ahh ye olde tongue as it was spoken before millennials f🤬ked it all up
Nice to see it's making a comeback
