Hi Guys

I am lucky enough to be going to San Fran in the next few months, I will be landing around 2:30 in the afternoon after a very long flight. Jet lag is not something I am that familiar with so no idea how tired I will be. I do know I am only planning on staying two nights in San Fran and then heading of towards route 66 etc. While in the area I want to ride the Repac, now to show how naive I am and my lack of being able to find the info through Google is the Repac part of Mount Tam? If not would you suggest that I would be better doing one of the routes on Tam?

My girlfriend will be coming on the holiday with me but not coming mountain biking so I only really want to go out on a route that will take say five hours? Maybe that way I can get up at stupid o'clock and get back while she is still asleep.......

So what recommendations do you have for bike hire shops, trails and anything else that I may have forgot.

I also need to work out how to get from San Fran to the mountain.

Thanks

Jamie

i did something similar a few years ago, trouble is cant remember the hire shops name! there are quite a few around the city tho. getting to Marin County is the easy bit, ride across Golden Gate Bridge and you are there.

one other thing to remember is that the brakes will be "wrong" front brake left lever, back brake right lever.
needs a bit of thinking about if you are going fast!

Yep, I almost unwittingly killed an American I was working with by giving him a loan of a bike in Edinburgh. He went arse over tit in the middle of rush hour traffic. And then blamed me for setting my bike up wrong.

ooppps! i know some Stateside riders have their bikes set-up same as we do but most of them are motorbikers too as the front brake is righthand there as well.
